ALL THAT’S LEFT IN THE WORD by Erik J. Brown
WHAT IF IT’S US meets LIFE AS WE KNEW IT in a gripping post-apocalyptic queer YA romance.
When Andrew stumbles upon Jamie’s house, he’s injured, starved, and has nothing left to lose. A deadly pathogen has killed off most of the world’s population, including everyone both boys have ever loved. And if this new world has taught them anything, it’s to be scared of what other desperate people will do... so why does it seem so easy for them to trust each other?
After danger breaches their shelter, they flee south in search of civilization. But something isn’t adding up about Andrew’s story, and it could cost them everything. And Jamie has a secret, too. He’s starting to feel something more than friendship for Andrew, adding another layer of fear and confusion to an already tumultuous journey.
The road ahead of them is long, and to survive, they’ll have to shed their secrets, face the consequences of their actions, and find the courage to fight for the future they desire, together. Only one thing feels certain: all that’s left in their world is the undeniable pull they have toward each other.

It was going to be called How Did We Miss This? but in between the time of recording and the launch, another podcast with that name came out. While the podcast will still be launched on the 11th, they are coming up with a new name and social media links!
Welcome to the Jersey Ghouls’ Summer of Suburban Horror!
They are kicking off this summer long celebration with the OG Stepford Wives and the crappy remake. (Sorry not sorry, Frank Oz) Marissa shares her fears of town livin’ after growing up in the city and Jacki puts on the feminism hat for this one.
This week the Ghouls are joined by Mells and Eli of Twin Knife Productions! Convincing arguments, Ted Levine impressions and a discussion of the existential crisis that we call life. Good times had by all!
Keep up with Mells and Eli and enter the world of immersive horror on Instagram at Twin Knife Productions. They are frequent collaborators with friends of the show, Joshua & Samantha of Unstable Nightmare People and Blackheart Collective.
Two things about this episode. One: sadly Marissa got sick and could not join Jacki and guest, Adam for this recording. Boo-urns! Two: strap in kids, this is gonna be a long one. Having someone like Adam on the show gets the conversations going as he and Jacki breakdown history of EC and the vignettes in both Tales from the Crypt (1972) and Vault of Horror (1973).
It’s a Ti West double feature this week! The Ghouls unpack The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers. Marissa loved the strong female characters. Jacki is disappointed by a lack of platonic relationship representation. Not today, Satan… but they’re free tomorrow.
Snuggle down into your coffin with a goblet of blood and that special someone because this week Mary joins the Ghouls to talk about sexy vampires. They watched Interview with the Vampire & Only Lovers Left Alive. So many sexy vampires to choose from! Who do you think is the sexiest of them all?

Stephen King often writes about technology causing havoc in our lives. Life imitates art this week as technology has railed against the humans and sadly the remaining of the bracket recordings were lost. Marissa and Jacki do their best to bring up the key points from the conversations that everyone had as they recap the Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4, and the final showdown of the best Stephen King adaptation.

Marissa and Jacki look back over the past few years and chat about the journey thus far. They send all their love to everyone who has listened over the last 99. From family and friends to guests on the show, folks we have met at conventions and events, members of the Facebook group, and fellow podcasters. This fun hobby has opened up a world of opportunity to them and the horror community has become a second family. Marissa and Jacki can not thank you all enough for the love, support, guidance and laughs. Cheers to 100 episodes and here’s to 100 more!
Smack dab in the middle of the winter season, the gang taps into some snowy horror. Who will hold out for a cure? Can wolves drive a car? Tune in and find out!
They got around to it eventually! The Ghouls go through their personal favorites of the last decade. They may not have been the top grossing or the most critically acclaimed but favorites of the Ghouls none the less. PLUS they came up with bonus top ten list because they are so damn fun!
M-O-O-N! That spells The Stand.
The Ghouls are joined once again by Catie (Mise En Scream) as they tackle the 4 part miniseries that aired on ABC in 1994. Mayhap they like it, mayhap they don’t. Either way, you know they will “do a little research” and dive into one of Stephen King’s more successful book to TV screen adaptations.

Zack joins the Ghouls again as they “look to the future” with two tech based horror films, Videodrome and The Lawnmower Man. An unsettling correlation is found between Cronenberg’s film and today’s dependency on technology, we’ll give you one guess on which one of the Ghouls really enjoyed The Lawnmower Man, and as per usual, off topic antics ensue.

Go to the motel, you’re gonna have a bad time. Head to Gatlin, your’re gonna have a bad time. Join the gang this week as they discuss Motel Hell and Children of the Corn. They re-cast Motel Hell as a Rob Zombie remake and marvel at the interconnected Stephen King Universe.
It’s time to find a sacrifice this week as the gang discusses The Wicker Man movies. Two completely different movies that are totally the same and not at all alike! Christopher Lee is amazing and Nicolas Cage is… um… is… allergic to THE BEEEEEEES!
Oh yes dear listeners! It is that time of year again when Jacki takes over in the name of her birthday and makes the gang watch one of her favorites! Much to everyone’s relief she picked, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare! Recorded a few weeks ago when everyone was together at the Pop Rock n’ Horror Convention, frequent guests, Zack and Catie (Mise En Scream) join in the celebration.

Fill up the syringe with green goo because this week the Ghouls are talking Re-Animator and Beyond Re-Animator. Not everyone was on board with these movies and the obvious cringe factor can’t be ignored. Can Jeffrey Combs save the films with his portrayal of Dr. West?
This week the Ghouls talk about the very special movie, Slashers. Well, special to them anyway. This episode is a bit self-indulgent and super nostalgic as Marissa and Jacki talk about their time as Hollywood Video employees, their wild college days, and origin story of the Jersey Ghouls!
Welcome to the first in a new series, Ghoul Talk! They kick it off with a list of Good and Bad Horror Moms! A few matching entries, a few deep cuts, and as always, few questionable choices. Do you agree with our list? Who would make it on to yours? Happy Mother’s Day!

The Ghouls are back at it this week with another round of guilty pleasure movies! Jacki brings us Mary Reilly. For Marissa, they talk about Bram Stoker’s Dracula. They both defend and tear down the movies that they love so much. Street cred be damned-these movies are so good! And not unlike a few stars of these movies, what isn’t good is the accents the ladies try to pull off. Apologies to the listeners across the pond!
The a world were survival movies are a dime a dozen, two stand out above the rest. This week the Ghouls talk 28 Days Later and The Girl with All the Gifts. The Zombie vs. Infected debate is sparked. Jacki makes a fuss, Marissa reins her in and at the end of the day, we should all read more books.

This week the Ghouls discuss yet another giant in the horror industry, David Cronenberg. We look at two of his films; Shivers and The Fly. It is body horror 101 this time around and not all of the Ghouls are up to the challenge. Can you watch the Brundle-Fly transformation with out turning away?
This week the Ghouls (and returning favorite, Matt Kelly) discuss two of the best vampire movies to come out of the 80’s: The Lost Boys and Fright Night. While we love both films, one definitely comes out on top as our collective favorite. And at the top of the show we ask the age old question: Who do you want to bite you? David (Kiefer Sutherland) or Jerry (Chris Sarandon)? Tune in - find out!
This week the Ghouls tackle two recent reboots: Evil Dead (2013) and Blair Witch (2016). With the two heavy hitters that these movies are based on, you might think they would come up against some criticism from our Ghouls. And for the most part, you would be right. Marissa called in some reinforcements, Nate had a compelling argument, and Jacki acted like an old person telling these new movies to “Get Off My Lawn!”
Ahwoooo! This week the Ghouls get hairy discussing The Howling and Ginger Snaps. Our topics jump from social commentary to Rick Baker to gender roles to masturbation. Trust me, it all makes sense.
